Why Crash Diets Make Wrinkles and Sagging Worse

A young woman in the kitchen with a notebook among vegetables.

Summer is approaching. Which means lots of people will be going on diets to try and slim down so they can look and feel their best.

But the unfortunate truth is that crash diets can make your wrinkles, sagging skin and other signs of aging WORSE.

Here’s why…

When you cut the calories your body needs to make energy, your body will find that energy elsewhere.

And that “elsewhere” is often collagen.

That’s right!

The #1 protein responsible for keeping your skin firm and elastic.

So instead of skin that looks tight and youthful, to match your slimmer frame…

Your skin starts to look saggier and more wrinkled instead.

Even worse, crash diets deprive your skin of essential nutrients such as vitamins A, C, and E… which are all skin superfoods!

So while crash diets might seem like a quick fix, they’re not worth the damage they do to your skin or body.

That being said… You don’t have to give up on your dreams of having healthy, radiant skin and a slimmer body in time for summer.

Here are a few things you can do to lose weight and enjoy the radiant, glowing skin you deserve:

#1. Eat a balanced diet. Eating a balanced diet means consuming fruits, veggies, lean protein, and healthy fats. Not only will your skin get all the necessary nutrients, but your whole body will thank you.

#2. Drink plenty of water. Staying hydrated helps flush out all the toxins and keeps your skin plump and juicy.

#3. Exercise. Building muscle through weight training can help decrease the appearance of loose skin. You don’t have to become a bodybuilder though!

#4. Get your beauty sleep. Sleep is where your body heals, repairs, and regenerates everything. If you’re not getting 7-8hrs each night, you deprive your body of essential rest and recovery.

#5. Take the right supplements. Supplements are a powerful tool for giving your body extra nutrients. You can also support specific goals you may have with careful supplementation.

Now I know those aren’t groundbreaking suggestions. You’ve likely heard them all before. But they deserve repeating because they work.

Bottom line…

If you want to lose weight and enjoy youthful looking skin…

Forget about “crash diets”.

Nourish your body with a balanced diet, stay hydrated, sleep, exercise and take the right supplements…

And you can give yourself a better chance of having youthful looking skin to match your slimmer body this summer.
